 ABOUT JACKIE

Picture
I make big, bold, gestural paintings with color-blocked perimeters and manipulated images that resemble psychedelic paintings. My works indulge in bright, vibrant hues and interconnected forms. Through painting and photography, I investigate the mysterious world of abstraction, while evaluating notions of display by embracing the edge of art’s surface.

I was born in Los Angeles and began studying painting and visual art as a teen in 2005, taking courses at LACMA, UCLA, and Art Center College. I moved to Berkeley in 2009, and in 2013, I received my B.A. in Art Practice from UC Berkeley. In May 2015 I received my M.F.A. in Studio Art from Mills College. I have exhibited my artwork in the San Francisco Bay Area at locations such as the de Young Museum, the Berkeley Art Center, and the Mills College Art Museum. I am currently represented by Saatchi Art online gallery, where I have sold pieces to collectors nationally and internationally.
